Land Acknowledgment
Oh My Pleasure acknowledges that our practice is situated on the ancestral lands of the Akimel O’odham, O’odham Jewed, and Hohokam people. We recognize the ongoing relationship and deep interconnectedness that these communities have with this land, and we honor their enduring presence and resilience.
We recognize that the historical trauma and ongoing systemic oppression experienced by Indigenous communities have a direct impact on mental health and well-being. As mental health practitioners, we are committed to working towards healing and justice in support with Indigenous communities and other marginalized groups.
We are committed to engaging in ongoing education and reflection on the history and impacts of colonization, and to incorporating a decolonial lens into our practice. We strive to create a welcoming and culturally responsive environment for all of our clients, and to center the voices and experiences of Indigenous peoples and other historically marginalized communities in our work.
